Learning is always good for the brain, especially if you do it everyday. In fact, that’s exactly what I’m starting to do, 5-10 minutes of learning a day will help me gain confidence and reduce my stress and anxiety, as the saying goes “knowledge is power”, whilst it will also engage my brain.
You may have noticed new images coming and going on my blog, such as the new header above, that’s because I just bought myself my very own Mac (not a raincoat, a computer) so I can get to grips with the Adobe suit whilst I was in need of a new computer. By the Adobe suit, I mean Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premier Pro and the magic of After Effects. I’ve always been knowledgable about this software but have never really had the chance to use them, I’ve always used the free alternative, that being Gimp or Canva to produce my images or desktop publishing.
So, How Am I Learning?
Well, I’ve signed up to a Udemy course on the essentials of using InDesign. This is really giving me value day to day as I was starting to feel lost and undervalued. I’m waking up with a reason to get up, which is important in today’s society, without reason there’s no meaning in life and meaning gives you a reason to exist. Once I’ve completed this course I’m going to look for another course in Photoshop to enhance my skills.
I think learning has really enhanced my confidence in the short term and hopefully for the longer term too, I think if you’re reading this feeling a bit lost, learn something new or rediscover a past interest you’ve had and go from there. Since the pandemic I’ve rediscover many of my interests which has given me so much more confidence such as my Drama, I performed in two pantomimes which really grew my confidence whilst I made many friends.
