This year (2019) I ran my first ever marathon, the London Marathon. If you’re running the London Marathon for the first time you’ll need to pick up your number from the London Marathon Expo.

The Expo runs at the London Excel Arena from the Wednesday to the Saturday before the race, in 2020 this will be from Wednesday 22nd April to Saturday 25th April.

Getting to the Expo

The nearest tube station is Custom House this a short DLR journey away from Canning Town tube station. When you get to the Expo it will be very busy especially if it’s a Saturday, I recommend getting their as early as you can so you have plenty of time to collect your number and look around.

“It’s Like A Runner’s Sweetshop”

As well as collecting your number, their an incredible amount of exhibitors on show. Last year, when I arrived I received a fantastic headband and giant shoe from New Balance, take a look below. There’s everything from running gels, clothing, footwear to technology, it’s like a sweetshop for runners. Most importantly, if you do buy anything, make sure you don’t use at the start of the London Marathon, save it until you train at home.
